A tall tiered celebration cake finished with piped buttercream flowers

Cakes that look like the occasion, and taste like it too.

We bake one cake at a time, to order, in a small Nairobi kitchen. You tell us the occasion, the flavours you love and the colours you're working with — we draw it, quote it, and bake it for the day you need it.

Kind words

What people say after the candles are blown out.

A few notes from recent orders. Replace these with real messages from your own clients — a WhatsApp screenshot pasted in as text works perfectly, and a name plus the occasion is enough.

“The cake arrived exactly as the sketch, and the buttercream was still firm in the heat. Nobody believed it wasn't from a big bakery.”

“We did the tasting box first and it made the decision easy — four flavours, and we ended up choosing two we'd never have thought of.”

[Client name] [Wedding, month] · [Venue]

“I sent a photo from Pinterest at short notice and got a quote the same evening. They told me honestly which parts would work at my size instead of just saying yes.”

[Client name] [Birthday, month] · [Neighbourhood]

“Thirty cupcakes and a small cutting cake for a launch, delivered and set up before we got there. The table looked like we'd hired a stylist.”

How to order

Four steps, then we bake.

We take a limited number of cakes each week so that every one gets proper attention. The earlier you tell us the date, the easier it is to hold it for you.

  1. 01

    Tell us the occasion

Use the form below, or send a WhatsApp message. Include the date you need the cake, roughly how many people it should serve, and any colours or theme you're working with. A photo you like helps more than a long description.

  2. 02

    We quote and sketch

Within a day or two you'll get a price, a suggested size, and a rough sketch or reference for the design. We'll flag anything that won't work at your size — some designs need a taller cake to read properly.

  3. 03

    Confirm with a deposit

A deposit of [deposit amount] holds your date; the balance is paid on collection or delivery. Once the deposit is in, your slot is locked and we start planning the bake.

  4. 04

    Collect or have it delivered

Collection is from [pickup location] on [pickup days and hours]. Delivery within Nairobi can be arranged for [delivery fee]; we'll confirm the window the day before.

The kitchen

Small kitchen, one cake at a time.

[Bakery name] is a custom cake kitchen in Nairobi. We don't keep a shop counter — every cake is planned, baked and finished for one specific occasion, which is why we ask for a few days' notice and why the number of cakes we take each week is limited.

The work is mostly buttercream and ganache, with fresh fruit and flowers where they suit the design. We'd rather do a clean, well-built cake in your colours than a crowded one, so we'll often suggest taking decoration away rather than adding it.

If you're planning a wedding, come and taste first. If it's a birthday on Saturday and you're reading this on Tuesday, message us anyway — sometimes there's a gap.

Questions

Things people ask before ordering

How far in advance should I order?

Five days is comfortable for a celebration cake. Wedding cakes are best booked four to six weeks ahead, especially in busy months. If your date is sooner, ask anyway — we sometimes have room.

Can I send a photo of a cake I saw online?

Yes, and it helps. Send it with your date and guest count. We'll tell you honestly whether we can reproduce it, and what it would cost at your size — some designs rely on tools or finishes we don't use.

Do you do eggless or reduced-sugar cakes?

Most flavours can be made eggless, and we can dial down the sugar in the sponge and filling. Tell us when you enquire so we can quote for it. We bake in a kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten and eggs, so we can't promise a nut-free environment.

How do I store and serve the cake?

Buttercream and ganache cakes keep best in the fridge and should come out about an hour before serving so the sponge softens. Fondant cakes are happier somewhere cool and dry. We'll send storage notes with every order.

Can you deliver outside Nairobi?

Within the city, yes. Further out we can arrange transport for tiered and wedding cakes, but the cake has to travel upright and cool — message us with the venue and we'll say what's possible.

What if I need to change or cancel?

Design changes are fine up to [cut-off, e.g. 72 hours] before your date. Cancellations close to the date are hard to absorb because ingredients are already bought and the slot is held — talk to us and we'll work something out.

Tell us the date and we'll take it from there.

Send the occasion, the guest count and the colours you're working with. You'll have a quote and a sketch back within a day or two.
